What's the difference between a Gear motor and a Direct drive motor?
Gear motors integrate an electric motor with a gearbox to increase torque by reducing speed, making them ideal for high-torque, low-speed applications like conveyors or robotic arms, though gears may cause minor energy loss. The bike is great but here are some areas for improvement:
The assembly manual should be updated to show more detail. Many areas of installation required me to search for YouTube videos from other sources to get that detail. Adjusting the brakes and suspension forks lack needed detail.
The 2way charger instructions should state that charging is complete when the fan stops. Existing charger documentation states to look for a red led when charging and a green led when charged. There is no red/green led. More information on the 2 way charger display and buttons would be helpful.
Connecting the bike to a iPhone was very challenging. No information on how to do this and scouring the web yields results for older models using PIN codes 0000 or 1234 or 000000 or 111111 but none of them worked. To connect I had to play around with options on the display and finally stumbled on the PIN code when selecting the music option after holding + and - for a second. With the pin I was able to connect using iPhone settings>bluetooth.
There is also no information in the manual for managing firmware etc by using an app. There is an app called HiRiders, which does connect once you enter the settings menu and then select bind phone and then scan the QR code using the app’s connect with QR code option. If you use the iPhone camera to scan the QR code it doesn’t know what to do with the code.
The clock on the bikes display is only synced with the iPhone when the HiRiders app is active and connected to the bike. It would be nice for the time to update as soon as the Bluetooth connection is made natively with the iPhone since that connection can be configured to automatically connect when it sees the bike’s Bluetooth ID ready to connect. Then there is no manual intervention required to start an app that really has no daily benefit other than to sync the time.
Also trying to find and record the bike’s serial number was challenging since there are no instructions that show where it is. To make matters more difficult each version of the bike has it in different locations. For the 2026 A8 I found the frame serial number on the round part of the frame where the pedal motion sensor attaches. I have yet to find the motor serial numbers as the best information I found on the web suggests it’s imprinted on the outside round part of the motor in between the spokes of the motor itself. I found nothing there and assume you have to take apart the wheel from the motor to expose the serial numbers.
Finally, the ability to select front wheel or rear wheel drive or both motors is nice. However that setting is lost once you use assist level 4 or 5 where both motors engage. The motor drive setting should revert back to the users selected mode after returning from 4/5. As it works, both motors remain engaged after using 4/5 and returning to 1/2/3 despite my setting the motor drive to rear only.
The bike itself is a lot of fun and well worth the price and effort to assemble and configure.
With some updates to the manual or online documentation and a firmware update to address my items of concern, the user experience would be improved.

It's great and powerful just make sure you buy it make sure you hook everything up properly it's an awesome bike nice and quiet lots of power it's awesome I went all the way down downtown brought it all the way down back from San Diego to El cajon still had four to just barely hit the three bar range when I got over the hill about 2 minutes away from home it's a lot of power and long range and I'm 230 lb and between just my locks I got to kryptonite forget about it and a trip tonight shackle shakalak is 4 lb and kryptonites 15 lb so you can do the math it's great it still gets really good power and long range I highly recommend this bike

Hello again, know anyone who looks at the reviews knows I make regular updated reviews for this bike. To the customer support of Aniioki specifically. Listen, the Bike gets a nine out of 10 hands-down. And I can say with 100% certainty, I get more miles on this bike per charge than anyone else that has because I took the time to dial into the settings based on my writing style and size of myself. But here’s the thing Aniioki I know you guys are getting ready to release the new model going into 2026 2027. You need to make the rear shocks into air suspension for heavy riders such as myself because if you look at all of the reviews, that is the one problem everyone can agree on and kind of the only problem this bike has the rear suspension sucks. Everything Else on this bike is amazing. I get over 226 miles per charge. I can do 80 pounds with a groceries on it with no issue. The problem is that rear suspension. It’s too stiff and when you adjust it, you can’t dial it incorrectly. You need to put air suspension on The newer models of the A8 And make the parts available to buy separately for people that have the older models I’ve had my bike since last August and within the first four months before I put it away for the winter. I put 4000 miles on it in four months. Can I treat my bike like a king . And I’m telling you, you need to upgrade the rear suspension shocks to air shocks. For three reasons one bigger riders like myself are gonna get more comfort. 2 More comfort equals bigger riders are gonna buy the bike. 3 Finally, with more comfortable rear suspension people will go on longer rides and all around have a better time and put those are together makes more sales. So please, you’ve upgraded the batteries now work on that rear suspension, putting air suspension in there

To start off I am 165 pounds at 6 foot 3. I had to go into the settings and tweak a few things. And now these are the new stats. with peddling at 25 miles an hour. I can get a max range of 226 miles per charge. At 35 miles an hour while only peddling I get 169 miles per charge. When using throttle only a 25 miles an hour I get just under 140 miles per charge In a 35 miles an hour with only throttle I could just under 118 miles per charge. The model of the bike I have is the Aniioki A8 Dual motor bike with a 60 V 80 amp hour Configuration. And throughout all social media, as far as I can tell, I have the best range stats by far. In fact, I’ve been told I get better stats than you guys get in the testing facility lab that you use. Now To Aniioki directly I can see with certainty. I love this bike, but there are a few things you have to tweak for. For example, someone my size needs air suspension rear shocks. It’s the only grip I have about this bike, the rear shocks you have a way to stiff and they cannot be adjusted enough air shocks would fix this . Other than that, the bike is perfection nine out of 10

Wow, the A8 pro max is unbelievable. Assembly was easy. Everything works perfectly. My first ride was shocking. I am 6’1” 235 and this bike pulled me over every obstacle I tried. I live on a very steep grade and taking the power to 5 it climbed it at about 28 as the main grade leveled out it accelerated uphill easily. I was stunned at how hard it pulls as you go through the levels. Flat out I hit 45 and had to hit the brakes for a turn the bike was still pulling. Going to test it on the beach and off road this weekend. First impression is this thing is well made and phenomenal to ride.

Assembly went well for the most part. I'm not a bicycle expert and so some of the terms I use may be wrong, sorry for that. The part where the handlebars attach (stem?) had some minor damage despite the steel plate used to shield it from shipping damage. It didn't affect assembly or function. There were some minor scrapes of the paint from insufficient packing material. My boxes were in perfectly acceptable condition.
I had two issues with assembly. One is that the bolts that clamp the handlebars to the stem seem damaged. They were exceedingly difficult to tighten to the point where I bruised my hand from exerting so much force on the hex key. They were equally difficult to loosen which is what makes me think they're faulty. Do matter how much I cranked down on the bolts and nuts I couldn't get the stem to lock tightly in place. If I stood in front of the bike and held the front wheel between my legs it took just moderate force to move the handlebars out of position. I ended up removing the handlebars and wrapping some thin abrasive tape around the stem and fixed that in place with some spray adhesive. After reassembling the handlebars with the abrasive tape and managing to tighten the bolts a bit more on the second time around I was able to get the handlebars to be reasonably secure in their position. I'll likely buy some new bolts and nuts to replace the janky ones.
My second issue was very similar to the first. I was unable to get the seat to stay firmly in place with the clamp. I tightened down the clamp to its physical limit and it simply didn't clamp the seat post with enough force. So, much like the handlebar issue I grabbed a couple of small pieces of sandpaper, sprayed the back with spray adhesive and applied them inside the plastic sleave that the seat post goes into. That fixed the seat problem.
Now I'll describe my experience riding the bike. The seat is okay. I wouldn't want to spend a couple of hours on it, but for a quick trip it's not bad. Definitely not designed with pedaling in mind. The throttle is kind of crap. It's much more like an on off switch than a linear throttle. I'm not saying that there is no ability to moderate speed, but the throttle is fully out of range with maybe a quarter turn. There's just not enough total range in the throttle for precise speed control. I fully expect that could be fixed with a firmware upgrade, and I hope that Aniioke develops one and provides it to us to install. The brakes are good, BUT my front brakes have a LOT of air in them. It takes three full squeezes of the front brake lever to get decent pressure. That's a serious safety issue and these bikes shouldn't be shipping with un-bled brakes. The rear suspension is almost useless and could be so much better.

This is an update from my previous review. A couple week ago I was having a major issue with the front wheel bouncing/wobbling. I reached out to customer service explaining the issue and was instructed to take it to a Ebike shop...but nothing they could do because the wheels being motorcycle wheel...didn't have the tools for working on motorcycles. Anyway I reached out to customer service again and without hesitation I was told a front wheel will be sent out right away. WOW that's what I call real customer service. There was one customer service Rep that helped me each time I would send an email..."Mila" she would always reply within hours and would go above & beyond the call of duty to help. I bought this bike from Aniioki's used inventory and even with the issues, the company always honored the warranty.

Seat is not as comfortable as it looks and will be hard to replace since poll is so thick, and I hate the fact that it will only start with a keyfob , power button is useless.

Bought the 60v 70Ah A8 Max dual motor almost two months ago Used on the website...it did have some minor issues, but Aniioki did send replacement parts to get me riding. So far the bike is doing great.

Absolutely love the bike . As a bigger rider at 6 foot two and 260 pounds I’ve been doing all the range tests at normal speeds at like 25 to 35 miles an hour and for those who wanna know these are my stats
60 V 80 amp hours . A 25 miles an hour with throttle only with both motors engaged I get just over 130 miles per charge with the same speed with pedal assist only I got 220 miles per charge. With throttle only at 35 miles an hour I get 82 miles per charge and with pedal assist at 35 miles an hour I get just over 142 miles per charge. And that’s with me being a rider at 6 foot two and 260 pounds. With ideal roads.

I have been using the A8 Pro Max for a few weeks now. And, I have used several other e-bikes. This one is by far the best. It offers both long range and the option of CBS brakes, which is what attracted me. It is a bit heavy, but I understand that because of the large battery capacity. It looks good, feels good to ride, and is great to ride, and I often ride this one to the beach. Thank you Aniioki for making me the perfect e-bike. I recommend it 100%.

I have not ridden a ebike in over 25 years. I bought it because of the battery life issue. Now, long rides are my favorite part of the day. It is a bike worth getting used to.

The A8 Pro Max fits me perfectly (small bike frame). Being new to E-bikes it took me a couple weeks to master riding in hilly metro-parks. The long grueling hills on my pedal bike are now just a slight grade to breeze over. The display is easy to understand and the controls are all well placed.

Top 7 Reasons to Love My Aniioki
1. Lightning fast delivery - Ordered my A8 Pro Max Dual Motor on the 13th and assembled it 5 days later.
2. Easy assembly: Although, the manual can be much better.
3. Intuitive controls on a media player that records my adventures and syncs to my phone.
4. Control to turn the battery on and off plus ability to remove after unlocking it with key.
5. Remote control on/off with an anti-theft alarm system.
6. Peddle-assist makes you feel like super(man/woman) on wheels.
7. After a normal 25 mile PAS ride, the electrical charge registers less than 10 percent use.

Finally got the latest 2025 A8 Pro Max--had to park them side by side for a photo. The one on the left was purchased by my brother in 2024, and the two of us went on a bike trip together, and it was awesome. Got tons of compliments on the camo paint jobs too. They definitely turn heads. Still can not believe how responsive the support team has been--answered my setup question within a couple hours. Loving the whole experience so far.
I have had the ANIOKI A8 Pro Max for about a month now, and it is quickly become my go-to for both short errands and longer weekend rides. Still learning all its features, but so far, this thing is a beast.
This bike is amazing! The power of acceleration is exhilarating and at times, a little too much. I'll have to adjust the powering for a smoother take-off.
I took it out of the box to "test" it before repackaging for an overseas shipment. Assembling the bike out of the box was easy and if you are mechanically inclined, you can do so without the manual. However, Aniioki provides a user manual to help you along with assembling your bike.
The bike's front fork was easy to adjust for stiffness. The shocks came preloaded with a PSI of 170. The rear shocks may need to be adjusted for dampening, but I was not able to do so as I did not have a spanner wrench at the time. I would recommend buying a spanner wrench to customize your shocks.
A con about the front fork is the fact I will need to remove the handlebars to pump the shocks. Other than that, I think its a solid design.
I had to break down my bike for shipment and in doing so, I accidentally broke the brake cable for my left lever. I messaged Aniioki for a new cable and they were able to adjust the cost for a brake line instead of paying for a whole set. The customer service I received from them was outstanding and responsive. The fact I can chat with them on WhatsApp makes the experience even better as I can share my photos with them altogether present my issues.
10/10, I recommend this bike. I also showed my friend and he is really excited to get his too! If you get this bike, I don't think you will regret it. Great bike, great customer relations. Aniioki, please keep on doing what you are doing! I am very happy with the responses and help you have given to me.
The A8…is (by far) the best bike I have in my stable. It’s reliable with minimum electrical nor mechanical issues..The 60 volt; 70 amp hour battery gives me range that has far exceeded my expectations. The mirrors provide me with excellent rear-view due to their build/construction…
It very good e-bike, since I do food delivery I got to see how it hold through when comes to range. I wish it show percentage or voltage so u can get a more accurate rating on your battery
and should come with a loud horn for car can hear u
Absolutely the best ebike you can buy on the market, Aniioki also has a shop on Amazon where I purchased my new 2025 A8 dual motor 60v/70Ah. Take my word for it, bike manufacturers do not send me bikes for reviews I purchased all of my ebikes and have owned 6 different ones, currently have 3. And if I would have bought this A8 first I never would have bought the others.
